Fifty names. One cart. Zero re-order hell.
Schools, sports clubs, corporate batches — anyone ordering personalised engravings in bulk normally hits a wall after item five: re-fill the configurator, re-add to cart, fifty times. Series lets customers paste a name list once and turn it into fifty individual designs in the cart — production-files bundled per order.
The repeat-order wall
Most product configurators are built for one-off designs. Bulk-personalisation either doesn't exist or hides behind a feature paywall plus a contact-sales process. Owners lose B2B revenue at the click counter.
- Schools & universities
120 students, name + class on a wooden tag. Today: a parent fills the configurator 120 times and abandons cart at #15.
- Sports clubs
U-12 team, 25 personalised wood medals. Coach hits the configurator at midnight before the tournament, gives up, calls the print shop next door.
- Corporate onboarding
New-hire batch, 50 desk plaques with name + role. HR opens 50 tabs, makes typos, emails support, the order shifts a week.
How Series works
No bulk-import wizard. No CSV with 30 columns. No contact-sales. Just one toggle for the owner and one hint for the customer.
- Owner enables — one setting
On any product, tick which design elements customers may personalise per piece. Name. Number. Date. Whitelist the ones that make sense for this product.
- Customer discovers — on the PDP
When the storefront detects bulk interest — quantity ≥ 3 or a hint-link click — a one-tap modal opens with a paste-friendly text area. Names go in, quantity sets itself, no spreadsheet needed.
- Cart receives — fifty items
Series fans the design into N individual cart line-items. Each gets its own production file. Order export bundles them in one ZIP — drop the folder onto your laser or CMYK printer and go.
What no other configurator does the same way
Most apps treat bulk-personalisation as a separate product tier with manual quoting. Etchify ships it as a customer-self-service feature on the PDP — no sales call, no spreadsheet upload, no enterprise SKU.
| App | Customer discovers it | Bulk personalisation | Per-item file in order | Available on |

You decide what customers may change.
Per product, you pick the design elements that may vary per piece. Everything else stays locked. The look stays on-brand, the production stays predictable.
- Element-type whitelistText-only? Text + QR? Text + image? Owner chooses per product — customer only edits what you allow.
- Quantity boundsSet sane min/max per product. Reject an order with 5,000 items on a 50-item product before it ever reaches the laser.
- Discovery defaultsThree discovery channels (hint-link, two-CTA, quantity-watch). Toggle each on or off — Series stays invisible on products where it doesn't fit.
- Carousel previewBefore checkout the customer scrolls through every personalised piece — typo on row 23 surfaces while it can still be fixed.
Series is part of the universal customer toolkit — no separate Series-tier, no per-name fee, no metered cap. The customer plays with bulk-personalisation on every Etchify plan.
